Museum and restaurant in one

The museum is located in a former country estate from the 17th century. With the support of the island's government, the house has been lovingly restored to its original state and made accessible to everyone free of charge. In the wine museum, you can learn all about the interesting history of winegrowing on Tenerife and marvel at old equipment that used to be used to make wine. There is also a museum shop where you can buy cookbooks, local honey and cheese, traditional pastries, Tenerife souvenirs and much more. Admission to the museum is free. But the impressive manor house is not just a museum. Art exhibitions, wine courses, concerts and lectures are held regularly in the house's ballroom. In addition, the Casa del Vino also houses an excellent restaurant with a breathtaking view.

Taste and buy wine

Gourmets can also taste a wide variety of wines in the wine bar and then buy them in the vinotheque. The wine tasting menu changes every fortnight and visitors can choose from a total of 12 wines. They can also choose whether the wine should be white, pink or red. The five wine-growing regions of Tenerife are Abona, Valle de Güimar, Valle de La Orotava, Ycoden Daute Isora and Tacoronte-Acentejo. The grape varieties that grow on Tenerife are mainly Listan blanco and Listan negro. Somewhat less common are the Negramoll, Boboso negro, Gual, Verdello and Malvasia varieties. Mainly dry wines are also produced, which are very popular with the islanders. The wine tasting is accompanied by delicious cheese and nuts, which are typical of the Canary Islands. Thus, the Casa del Vino is an excellent excursion destination for all wine experts, interested people or connoisseurs.
