Tenerife - The largest Canary Island
Tenerife has 899,936 inhabitants on an area of approximately 2034 square kilometres and is the largest and most populated island of the Canary Islands.
The island is characterised by numerous cultural heritage sites and a changing, impressive landscape from south to north. Travelling from south to north, you are faced with completely different climatic conditions.
Historic old towns, including La Laguna as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the unique landscape of the volcanic mountain Teide with a height of 3718 metres are just a few sights worth mentioning that have a lasting impact on the island's image.
Tourists especially like to visit the world-famous water theme park Siam Park in the south or the animal park Loro Parque in the north.
Sun worshippers get their money's worth on Tenerife. In the south, the usual sandy beaches and in the north, especially greyish beaches, invite you to swim.
