Gran Canaria - Experience beauty and contrasts

Gran Canaria is often referred to as a small continent in its own right, as you can discover a different landscape around every bend in the road. The third largest island of the Canary Islands convinces with beautiful nature and - like all islands of the Canary Islands - with the climate of the "eternal spring". The island is also known for its many contrasts and its natural beauty. On one and the same day, you can lie on a fantastic beach, walk through the wide dune fields and climb up to the peaks of the islands. The green of the peaks contrasts with the volcanic ground and offers a fascinating contrast.

Activities for everyone

On the circular Canary Island, every type of holiday will find the right activity and boredom will be a foreign word. As an island, water sports are of course very suitable; the Canaries are generally considered a paradise for surfers and windsurfers. Divers also like to come to the island to pursue their sport. Away from the coast, however, there are also plenty of activities. You can go hiking or mountain biking, for example, and racing cyclists also like to come to the island to train. However, you have to bear in mind that the mountainous landscape of Gran Canaria makes it a little more demanding for athletes. However, dune and beach walks are not demanding and are very popular with holidaymakers as the view is simply breathtaking.

If you want to do something completely different, you can swing your dancing leg on Gran Canaria, or learn how to do it. For holidaymakers who enjoy dancing, there are a number of options. Especially the dance style Salsa is often represented and there is a variety of offers for dance courses. No matter whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced dancer, everyone is offered the opportunity to swing their hips.

But fans of city breaks will also find what they are looking for on the volcanic island. Gran Canaria has many small and charming towns where it seems as if time stands still. Contrast this with the island's capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The cosmopolitan city is a must-see and delights visitors with its culture, history and modernity.
